Abante People, Thanks to you!

Election Day had now come to an end. Everyone have exercised their rights to vote. Unfortunately, Abante Escalante Team was defeated. Even though, we had aimed high and firmly stand with our Covenant of Governance for a Brighter Escalante, people expressed themselves through their choices. Whatever their reasons will be, they will endure and live to what they believe to be right for them. It's either they will suffer or benefit from their choices.

To the co-believers of Abante Escalante's visions especially the ABANTE ESCALANTE TEAM, you are our UNSUNG HEROES. With all the intimidations and inconvenience, proudly, you stand for Escalante and its people. You all have experienced anxieties and pain because of the invasive tumor that slowly spread the minds of the hypocrites. At the very least, you protected our people up to your last strength in exchange for grave discrimination because of your firm belief.

To Hon. Santiago 'Maymay' Barcelona Jr. who was our only hope to give light to our city, WE SALUTE YOU, SIR! and we will always be proud to stand whenever we are right now. For deep in our hearts, you are victorious by standing for what is legally acceptable, for what is fair and just in governance, and for making us all realize that in this day and age of political corruptions and violence, your 9 years of excellent leadership will always be the years when we were proud to be called Escalantehanons. Your governance is incomparable. Your legacy is indelible. Once in our lives, a light of hope fluoresced. We will forever thank you and salute you for sharing us your entire life. And we will always live up to your advocacies and lessons. Ikaw ang among kusog ug inspirasyon para mopadayon mi sa among pag ABANTE.

To. Hon. Evelyn L. Hinolan and family, who constantly sacrificed and risked their lives for Escalante's peace and democracy, we are your invisible bodyguards who continually pray and believe for what you fought for. Indeed, you are all our prayer warriors. Thank you so much for fighting for our rights amidst the adversaries.

To Hon. Tisay Flores, in your home we find our home. You remained to be our mother who cared for your children without a doubt, unconditionally. On these difficult times, your were the wind beneath our weakened wings. Our deep gratitude.

To Hon. Ondo Alcos and Hon. Rose Manguilimotan, who for all the difficulties, wrestled to attain justice by protecting our people's human rights through financial and even legal assistance. Our warmest thanks for firmly standing to what is ought to be lawfully correct.

To the Heads of every community (ABANTE BRGY. CAPTAINS) as well as the ordinary citizens who made the initiative to help morally, financially, and spiritually. You spent sleepless nights of attending the needs of our people. You were the persistent volunteers who persevered. You fed the hungry stomach. You rescued everyone who needed help. You lighted a candle for hours of prayer. You bravely fought all humiliations thrown.

Finally, to all the people who offered their lives by being political victims, we will forever thank you and we will always include you in our prayers for you have battled and struggled for our protection up to your very last breath. May your souls rest in peace and may true justice shall prevail!

For the people who always believe in MAYMAY BARCELONA AND THE ABANTE ESCALANTE TEAM, our sincerest Thanks to everyone of you. May we now unload our frustrations and disappointments to the darker roads ahead. May we live with the memories that once in our lives, the years of ABANTE ESCALANTE had molded us to be better and competent citizens of the city. Speak loud. Stand proud. For we have a clean conscience and intellects that can't be bribed. We are the few good men in the world of hypocrites and gold diggers.
